Alex joined Stage One as a student at the age of 5, and continued until the age of 17. She took part in numerous shows with Jacqui and Sonia at the Studio Theatre, playing the part of Titania in ‘The Dreamer’ just before she left in 2014.
Local theatre was a huge part of Alex’s childhood – her first show at the Gaiety was in the DCU’s production of Annie, and soon after she played Princess Jasmine in Dreamstar Junior’s ‘Ali Baba’. More recently she was involved in Shrek the Musical as one of the Three Blind Mice. In holidays from university Alex enjoyed being part of the backstage crew in Dreamstar’s most recent pantomimes ‘Aladdin’ and ‘Puss in Boots’, and performing in Charity Events for Parent 2 Parent ‘Saturday Night at The Gaiety’ and ‘Ladies night’. Alex is looking forward to performing in the upcoming ‘Fashion For Life’ show for Breast Cancer Now.
Alex took many solo exams with Trinity Guildhall, achieving Grade 5 through to Grade 8 Musical Theatre with distinction. She also performed often in Group performances at the Manx Music Festival, most recently winning the Women’s Vocal Ensemble with St Ninian’s High School. Alex was delighted to be back at the Manx Music Festival this year with students from Stage One, who achieved fantastic marks in the Spoken Word category!
After studying GCSE and A Level Drama & Theatre Studies, she went to University in 2015 to study Drama and English at Edge Hill University. Both subjects are a great passion for Alex, and she particularly enjoyed Contemporary texts studied in English, and performing in Ramon del Valle Inclan’s ‘Savage Acts’ as Rosa, whilst also managing costume for the production.
Alex Graduated in 2018 with a 2:1, and is so honoured to now be a part of the Stage One team and continue performing on Island
