We have had a great first week back at Stage One Drama, welcoming students both old and new. It was great to hear that our students had had a fantastic summer and were excited to be back at Stage One.
With a busy term ahead it was straight to work with preparations already beginning for the end of term show and Musical Theatre exams. Musical Theatre students were busy learning music and beginning to stage their performances. The Little Stars and Starbrights classes sounded fantastic as they learnt their songs and began to put movement to their pieces. The Stargazers and Starlights classes were also in fine voice as they auditioned for individual parts. Our last class of the week, the Stargazers, were busy preparing their Newsies songs with a cake break to celebrate William’s birthday!
The Starbursts had their first production meeting of the term and focused on getting their “Everybody’s Talking About Jamie” mashup ready for an upcoming performance. The class will be performing as part of Alexandra Slater’s The Greatest Variety Show at The Gaiety Theatre on Saturday.
Drama classes began the term by first of all reflecting on their FANTASTIC exams results! Distinctions for the new Starters Grade 2, Starters Grade 3, Rising Stars Grade 4 and merits for the two Senior Groups at grade 6 & 7! Then it was straight to work on this term’s project which is to prepare performance pieces for the end of year showcase!
With such a great start to the term, we look forward to seeing our students develop further over the coming months.
